Here comes a review on another awesome lipstick from the Lakme 9 to 5 range.
Price & Quantity: Rs. 400 for 3.6 gms
Shelf Life: 36 months
Packaging: The Lakme 9 to 5 range has the same packaging – Sleek cylindrical in pale metallic pink! I love this packaging. I know I actually prefer packaging which is either transparent or color coded. At the same end, this packaging is elegance and I totally love this.
Shade: Wine play. A beautiful deep wine shade, with magenta/maroon undertones. It has a touch of brown to it, ones it settles down on your lips.
Texture: Its a totally matte lipstick. Though the texture is smooth and soft to apply it easily over the lips, it is not hydrating. So a lip balm beneath is a must. And the formula gets dried quickly, which means that it gets sets within a minute or so. Once sets, it gives a complete matte finish which looks awesome on lips. It is matte, but is not something which dries out your lips or something. It doesn’t look dull unlike few other matte lipsticks. It looks very bright!
It doesn’t gets into fine lines. As the texture is matte, I prefer the lips o be exfoliated.
Staying power: I am pretty much happy with the staying power. It stays on for a good 5 hrs surviving meals, snacks and water. After that it starts fading, but still leaves the color in there.
Pigmentation: One swipe covers everything, giving an opaque finish. That one swipe might even appear darker to few skin tones. It is that pigmented and I love this for the pigmentation as well.
My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Wine Play: This shade is one such pretty shade which has a deep Maroon wine color, with magenta & brown undertones. Its such a wearable shade for Indian skin tones. Single swipe is enough to get the true color, but few might feel even that to be heavier. If so, then swipe once, and dab around with a tissue over it, to remove the excess.
This shade is very much suitable for winters and also when it rains. In some way, let me put this way, that this shade is a seductive or romantic one. No, seriously! It gives you a fresh young and beautiful flush during those cool breezes or those drizzling rains. This shade would be stashed like forever for me. Beautiful, gorgeous, wearable yet simple. Doesn’t look glossy at all. Just like the name says, its a lip color – A vibrant Maroon wine shaded Lip color!
– Wearable shade, thus suitable for most of the Indian Skin tones
– Attractive Packaging and is travel friendly
– Easily available
– A gorgeous deep wine shade matte lipstick
– Smooth texture which makes it easy to apply.
– Richly pigmented
– Lasts for a good 5-6 hrs
– Doesn’t settle into fine lines
– Doesn’t dry out the lips, provided the lips are exfoliated and moisturized before hand
– Not hydrating. Being a matte lipstick, I don’t expect this to be hydrating, so not really a con. A lip balm beneath would do the sufficient
URG Rating: 5/5.
Do I recommend Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Wine Play: Yes. This just lifts up your mood giving a vivid and bright wine shaded lip color which looks picture-perfect always! Never would this go wrong!
Do I re-purchase Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Wine Play: Yes. As I said, this suits my complexion very beautifully. And I will keep stashing this for years, unless I find the EXACTLY the same shade in much lovelier formula.
